DS5 is located in North Rumaila and the Lake is located towards the west of ds5. The area covers 1000 x 2000m. BBC separated the oil from the water using special skimmers and pumped approximately 1million barrels of oil to the BOC terminal.
This project is considered as one of the biggest contaminated soil projects in the world.
